For those looking for a complete Alaskan photography trip, this week-long landscape & wildlife itinerary is for you!
This trip will provide ample time and opportunity for us to focus on big snowy mountain landscapes as we travel through the Kenai, Chugach & Alaska mountain ranges, including Denali, Talkeetna, and a bush plane flight complete with a glacier landing. We’ll capture images of a variety of marine wildlife while sailing the Kachemak Sea, and a hunt for the mystic Northern Lights!
Beginning in Fairbanks, we’ll immediately find ourselves entrenched in a quest for the alluring Northern Lights. The Aurora is typically at its best this time of year, and there are few locations in the world that are more prime from which to see and photograph the lights than Fairbanks. Following our time here we’ll head south towards the mountains, and the Denali region where we’ll have chances at both snow-capped mountain scenes that spread out across the landscape, as well as chance encounters with wildlife such as Mountain goats, Caribou, Moose, and more. A bush plane flight landing on a real Alaskan glacier is a remarkable experience that just might not be topped on this itinerary as we fly near and past towering peaks and land directly upon a glacier!
Reaching Homer, we’ll take to Kachemak Bay where our focus turns to marine wildlife such as the exceptionally loveable Sea otter, Harbor seals, Bald eagle, and more. Our privately chartered boat will offer excellent access to all of the excitement!
